Privacy Policy

Luna Violet is operated by Forty Five North Media ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we handle when you use lunaviolet.co, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the website, the chart calculator, the readings we generate, and the emails we send you.

What We Collect

We only collect what the service actually needs to work:

• Birth details: The date, time, and place of birth you enter, and the latitude and longitude resolved from that location. Your birth time is required to calculate a chart specific to you, so we cannot produce a reading without it.
• Your name: If you choose to provide one, it is used to personalize the reading. You can enter any name or pseudonym you prefer.
• Account information: Your email address. We use passwordless authentication with a 6-digit verification code sent via email, so there are no account passwords to store. While a sign-in code is active, we store a hashed copy of it, which is permanently deleted once used or expired.
• Purchase records: Whether you hold a one-time reading credit or an active subscription, along with customer, subscription, and checkout identifiers provided by our payment processor. We never see or store your payment card numbers.
• Generated readings: The chart calculated for you, the transits sampled, and the text of the reading itself, so that you can return to it and so our support team can investigate if a generation error occurs.
• Technical data: Standard server logs, IP addresses, and request counts used for rate limiting, security, and abuse prevention.
• Usage and campaign measurement: Aggregated interaction events describing site activity—such as pages viewed, charts calculated, readings requested, delivered, or abandoned, and purchase steps completed. Where you have consented, or where permitted by your local privacy settings, this includes measuring referral sources and campaign links. No birth date, birth time, birth place, name, or email address is ever attached to measurement events, and we do not record individual reading durations. See Analytics & Advertising below.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build advertising profiles from your birth data. Personal identifiers—including birth details, your name, and your email address—are strictly separated from measurement and advertising events in our codebase.

Where Your Chart Is Calculated

The astronomical calculations run directly in your browser. The chart itself—planetary positions, house cusps, and angles—is computed on your own device using a WebAssembly engine, not on our servers.

Writing the reading is a separate step handled on our servers. When you generate a reading, your calculated chart data, sampled transits, and first name are sent to our servers and to our AI provider so the interpretation can be composed. When you request your reading PDF by email, the document and your email address are processed by our email provider.

Readings Are AI-Generated

Luna Violet readings are generated with the assistance of an AI model. Your chart is calculated mathematically, but the words are written by an AI model working from your placements. Readings are provided for entertainment and reflective purposes only and are not a substitute for licensed medical, legal, psychological, financial, or professional advice.

Please do not submit personal information you would not want processed this way. In particular, avoid submitting health details, diagnoses, or other sensitive personal data into name fields or follow-up questions.

Who Else Sees It

We work with a small number of trusted service providers to run Luna Violet. Each receives only the data necessary to perform its specific role, and none are permitted to use your information for independent purposes:

• AI service providers: Receive chart data, transits, and your first name to compose the reading text.
• Payment processors: Process payments and subscriptions, handling payment details directly.
• Email delivery providers: Dispatch verification codes and deliver your reading PDF by email.
• Hosting and database providers: Securely store your account, purchase records, and generated readings.
• Analytics and advertising partners: Receive aggregate event data (such as page views, funnel milestones, and referring campaign links) to help us measure site performance and advertising effectiveness. They receive none of your birth details, name, or email address.

Part of our measurement involves no third party at all: we also run our own privacy-focused analytics on our own server, and those figures are never shared with outside parties.

These providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, or where necessary to protect our legal rights, safety, or property.

How Long We Keep It

• Account data: Retained for as long as your account remains active.
• Readings and chart data: Paid readings and their underlying chart data are retained so you can access them or request re-delivery, until you ask us to delete them or close your account.
• Purchase records: Retained as required for statutory tax and accounting obligations, even after an account closes.
• Login codes and session tokens: Short-lived, and expire automatically upon use or timeout.
• Short-term server cache: A generated reading may be held in memory briefly during delivery to prevent duplicate charges or duplicate generation requests.
• Usage statistics: Retained for product and operational analysis. Figures stored on our own servers contain no identifying information. Third-party providers retain aggregate event data according to their respective retention schedules and your cookie consent settings.

Your Rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or close your account entirely. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, ask us to restrict it, or complain to your local data protection authority. We will not charge you for making a request and we will not treat you differently for it.

Email oracle@lunaviolet.co and say what you would like done. We may need to confirm you control the account's email address before we act.

Analytics & Advertising

We measure how the site is used to ensure it functions reliably, and we measure advertising performance to understand which campaigns effectively bring readers to Luna Violet:

Our own measurement: Runs entirely on our own infrastructure. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier that can follow you across websites or across sessions. It cannot identify who you are, cannot link page views to your account or chart, and is never shared externally.

Third-party measurement: To determine whether advertising campaigns lead to site visits and purchases, we use third-party analytics and advertising services. These services may set cookies or use device signals to attribute visits to specific campaigns. Where required by law, we obtain your explicit consent before enabling these services, and you may disable them at any time.

Strict data limits: What any analytics provider can receive is strictly limited. Alongside page views, we record only a fixed list of events—such as requesting or verifying a sign-in code, calculating a chart, requesting, delivering, or abandoning a reading, clicking an unlock button, completing a purchase, or downloading a PDF. Each event carries only predetermined, non-identifying values (such as reading tier or general wait duration bands). Personal identifiers—including birth details, names, and email addresses—are strictly prohibited from reaching third-party analytics or advertising services.

Cookies & Consent

One cookie keeps you signed in. It is essential—without it you cannot remain authenticated—so it is set regardless of your choices, and it serves solely to identify your active session.

The measurement and advertising services described above set cookies according to your geographic region and privacy preferences:

• In the UK, the EU, the wider EEA, and Switzerland: We require your prior opt-in consent before any non-essential cookies or tracking technologies are stored. A consent notice will prompt you for your choice. Declining leaves you with only the essential authentication cookie and our privacy-focused first-party analytics.
• Everywhere else (including the United States): Measurement technologies are enabled by default, and you may opt out at any time.

Global Privacy Control: If your browser transmits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we automatically treat that signal as an opt-out request and will not display a consent banner.

Your privacy preferences can be updated at any time. Selecting Privacy Choices in the footer of any page reopens your settings, and your updated choice immediately replaces any previous selection. Your reading, chart, account, and pricing are completely unaffected by your decision.

Browser Session Storage: In addition to cookies, when you proceed to checkout, your chart details are temporarily stored in your browser's session storage for the duration of the checkout flow so your reading remains available upon returning from payment. This data exists solely within that browser tab, is never sent elsewhere, and is cleared as soon as you complete checkout or close the tab.

Children

Luna Violet is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here, and if the change is significant we will notify account holders by email.
